Cybernetic cocktail party, fashion show, and collective spectacle of the extended self. Neurofeedback fine-tunes perception to states of greater awareness.
From 6-10PM, November 19th, 2016, Soho’s Public Factory became a bio-sensory installation. Guests were cordially invited to try on wearable tech interfaces designed by Aaron Trocola of Three-Form Fashions. Biometric output was transmitted via continually transforming visuals and generative soundscape composed by DJ Joro Boro and Dan DiFerdinando.
Eco-responsive fashion designer Amalya Meira made custom-ordered textiles or garments based on visual projections of guests’s bio-data. Guided meditation, hypnotherapy, herbal infusions, aura reading and more by Ed Pankov et al., tracked mind-body calibration while nourishing the cyborg soul.
MIND ADORNED is an event series fomenting interactions between tech, fashion, mindfulness, ecology and design, curated by Eli Epstein-Deutsch.
MIND ADORNED I was hosted by the Public Factory, a collective storefront supporting emerging designers, and co-presented with Consciousness Hacking NYC. The wearable sensors were supplied by Open BCI, a company that offers open-source bio-sensing tools for anyone.
